Day Break 4:30 AM -
Hooking Up the trailer
It's about 3:30 AM and the alarm clock just
went off. I can hear the coffee pot brewing and head that way to get a cup
and sit down in front of the computer to check the weather. Up for my
second cup and pack my lunch.
Quick shower and off I go to crank up the diesel and head off to the ramp.
One final check before I head out of the garage and away I go.
Next stop, fuel and ice. I pull into the gas
station and weave my trailer into the pump lane and try to figure out how
I am going to get around the milk truck and the ice truck making their
morning deliveries. Pumping gas, someone pulls in beside me and asked
how's the fishing, or nice boat!....Trying not to be rude, I make some
small talk, which is extremely hard for me, for those of you have fished
with me know, and I finish pumping the gas. I know I have a 7:00 AM
pickup and I don't want to be late.
Next stop the ramp......... it looks deserted at
this time, as I unload the truck
and place the days supplies into the boat and get set to launch. Backing
the boat down the ramp, I wonder did I put the plug in? I guess even after
doing this 200 plus time a year, I still forget once in a while, which
should make all you recreational boaters chuckle.
Its now about 5:30 and I am off, some mornings
depending on the time of year, the sun is starting to rise in the east,
but in the winter it is dark and cold, till at least 7:30. Off to the
bridge I go, to catch bait.

6:30 AM and I am done catching the bait, got the
boat rinsed off and and ready for breakfast number two. A Peanut Butter
and Jelly sandwich and a bottle of water.
7:00 AM and I arrive back at the ramp and prepare for
my guests of the day. Waiting at the dock gives my mate Randy a minute to
eat his breakfast too. Randy's breakfast of choice is usually a Banana and
or some donuts. He knows I don't like to see him eating those bananas on
the boat, but he does it just to be funny......
TO BE CONTINUED WORK IN PROGRESS..............
